In the autumn of 2021, our partners at Sheffield Museums Trust completed a much-needed refreshment of the gallery spaces, which now offers new opportunities for the display of the wonderful riches of Ruskin's gift to the people of Sheffield, some of them old favourites and some which haven't been on show for many years.

There is now an area for rotating temporary exhibitions - the opening one, on display until late 2022, focused on Ruskin's collection of bird illustrations - and this is complemented by new spaces and facilities for relevant community involvement and activities. Overall, the emphasis is on introducing visitors to Ruskin as a radical thinker, writer, social campaigner, artist, environmentalist, collector and teacher, and on highlighting his legacy to Sheffield and his continuing relevance to us in the twenty-first century.
