The famous fantasy author J. R. R. Tolkien, author of The Lord of the Rings and creator of Middle-earth, died fifty years ago on 2 September 1973. To commemorate his life and work, and share in his fantasy vision, the Bewdley Museum and Ruskin Land are holding a Tolkien weekend in Bewdley in collaboration with the University of Birmingham. Follow Bilbo Baggins through a trail based on The Hobbit and meet a band of medieval Vikings at the museum, and come to Ruskin Land for a guided walk in the fantastic Wyre Forest and to read stories by Tolkien round a blazing fire in the fabled Dragon’s Nest.

SATURDAY 2nd SEPTEMBER 6.30pm

Stories in the Dragon’s Nest - £12/head, including barbecued sausages and a non-alcoholic drink – gather at Uncllys Farm on Ruskin Land at 6.30 p.m. – please bring a torch
