How would you define yourself?
Writer, educator, activist.
Please describe yourself and your areas of interest.
I work with story across a spectrum ranging from operas (Welsh National Opera, Birmingham Opera), theatre plays (Hampstead, Soho), and radio dramas (BBC Radio 3 & 4, BBC Sounds) to community engaged art (Cardboard Citizens, London Bubble), to activism (Centre for Alternative Technology, Global Action Plan, Ashden) and education. I'm currently Associate Professor at The Denmark National School of Performing Arts and a Director of the co-operative think tank The New Weather Institute.
Why did you become a Companion of the Guild?
I am deeply interested in Ruskin's ideas, which form a key part of my methodology and teachings.
